MENTAL HEALTH AND UNDERAGE SUBSTANCE USE

Join us for the last Let's Talk Discussion of the school year!

This discussion will focus on the critical intersection of mental health and underage substance use in teens. We will explore how mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and stress, can increase the likelihood of adolescents turning to substances as a coping mechanism.

The session will highlight the warning signs, the impact of substance use on brain development, and the long-term consequences for emotional and physical well-being. Additionally, we will consider strategies for prevention and ways to bolster support systems to equip parents and caregivers with tools to help their youth.

SPEAKERS

Tracy Foose, MD, Anxiety Specialist & Associate Professor, UCSF School of Medicine

Barry Liu, Junior @ Branson School, will offer his perspective and join for the Q&A session
